In-person attendance at the meeting of the Unwanted Solitude Observatory

At the meeting on 28 May, a report was given on attendance in person at the meeting organised by the Observatory on Unwanted Solitude. At this event, the Knowledge Alliance was presented and synergies between the represented institutions were assessed. Members of the Chair outlined its objectives, focusing on collaboration between experts and institutions from an interdisciplinary, holistic and cross-sectoral perspective, covering the issue of unwanted loneliness.

Initiatives were shared within the framework of the Chair and the Jaén Provincial Council regarding unwanted loneliness amongst young people, following the team’s participation in the Study on Youth and Unwanted Loneliness in Spain, presented in February 2024 and promoted by the ONCE Foundation in collaboration with Ayuda en Acción. The PROMOBIENESTAR Chair expressed its agreement to join the Knowledge Alliance: https://catedrapromobienestar.es/en/invitation-only-meeting-at-the-promobienestar-chair-to-join-the-knowledge-alliance-with-the-observatory-on-unwanted-loneliness-and-the-once-foundation/

Subsequently, the monitoring committee for the PROMOBIENESTAR Chair – comprising Luis Joaquín García, Lourdes Espinosa, Maria Dolores Ruiz and Celestina Martínez – attended, by invitation, the 2026 Talent Tour, an event with a youth-centred focus, at which the 2026 Princess of Girona Art Prize was announced. The event was attended by H.M. Queen Letizia. It was an event marked by talent, which highlighted the importance of young people’s emotional wellbeing, and featured the screening of a video showcasing the Wellbeing Workbook, which the PROMOBIENESTAR Chair helped to design. As part of the event, a series of related meetings took place between members of the Chair and the Educational Projects team at the Princess of Girona Foundation. https://catedrapromobienestar.es/en/representation-of-the-promobienestar-chair-at-the-2026-talent-tour-in-granada/

Another of the activities carried out was the attendance by Lourdes Espinosa and Luis Joaquín García at the inaugural meeting of the Working Group for Strategic Area 8: Jaén – healthy, inclusive and equal for social cohesion and well-being, held on 5 May and organised by the Estrategias Foundation.

This committee is responsible for providing advice on the new strategic planning process for the development of the Jaén 2030 Strategy. https://catedrapromobienestar.es/en/lourdes-espinosa-and-luis-joaquin-garcia-attend-the-inaugural-meeting-of-the-labour-commission-for-strategic-area-8/

Discussions also took place regarding the points raised at the meeting with the Santa Maria Foundation to assess options for collaboration: https://catedrapromobienestar.es/en/meeting-with-the-santa-maria-la-real-foundation-to-explore-new-avenues-for-collaboration/

Following this, the previous minutes were approved, and data on the progress and impact of enrolment and the development of the second micro-credential supported by the Chair were presented and analysed.

Next, a discussion began regarding the knowledge transfer event in October, to be held during World Mental Health Week.

Finally, the Chair’s support for the 26th edition of the ‘Intendente Olavide’ Summer Courses at La Carolina was approved. There were no requests or questions.
